Omanu Classic
The Omanu Classic was first held in 1977. The members of the 1992 winning Eisenhower Cup; Philip Tataurangi, David Scarhill, Michael Campbell and Grant Moorhead all played in the Classic that year.
The Classic is regarded as one of New Zealand’s premier golf tournaments for our top amateur golfers. The Omanu Classic in the past has been won by some that have progressed to the PGA tour such as Danny Lee, Phillip Tataurangi and Reon Sayer. A quality Womens field was introduced in 2009. James Hamilton was the first Omanu member to win on home soil in 2011.
